AN MOKU - Húm (Weldroid Remix)

about

«I can't claim to have perfect hearing - very few musicians do. Also
my hearing changes a lot from time to time (and my obsession about
critical listening tend to intensify this to a large extent). It is
however important to keep in mind that whatever we hear is 10% sensory information and 90% processing done by the most advanced DSP circuit ever devised: our brain. My goals with this track were not to make things sound "perfect", but to stimulate and entertain your brain all the time. As long as I have succeeded with that, it doesn't matter
what grades you've got from the audiologist.»

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Tamas Zsiros, aka. Weldroid was born in 1976 in Hungary, raised
on disco and electronic music of the time (Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel
Jarre are names that has to be mentioned). Where the Kodaly method has
failed, appreciation of 90's electronica and exposure to the demoscene
community has succeeded: Weldroid started creating sounds and
composing using primitive MIDI software, very soon to be replaced by
the top trackers at the time (Scream Tracker and then Impulse
Tracker). Digital music - while at the beginning was considered only
as a secondary passion sidelined by CGI - became the main outlet for
his creative instincts by the middle of the first decade of the first
century, still his first public release has appeared only in 2008 on
the legendary netlabel Kahvi Collective. Since then he has released
many albums and EPs on various netlabels. While Weldroid takes pride
in being a one-man show doing everything from music through album art
to mixing and mastering himself, he has recently started to
collaborate with many contemporary musicians from around the world.
His production techniques now rely more and more on carefully planned
and prepared live performances after all he is an engineer at heart
and that is what he looks like to his colleagues during daytime.

ABOUT THE TRACK:

Hum-muh was created by taking the original track completely apart
into separate sounds and then putting those together until it made
perfect sense, at least to me. I usually compose in a flow-state, with
very little control over the overall direction the track is heading
towards: apart from certain technical considerations the creation
process is very arbitrary, relies much more on happy coincidences than
strategy. This is what makes me happy, and for some strange reason it
often results in something other people are also interested in
listening to. I guess I'm a lucky person.
